I study intersectional gender stereotypes. Specifically, my research focuses on how our perceptions of and expectations for men change when we consider other identities that men may have (e.g., race, sexual orientation, culture). I aim to connect these intersectional prescriptive stereotypes about men to men’s beliefs about masculinity. I am also interested in how men’s understanding of masculinity influences men’s health and health behaviors. When I’m not thinking about psychology, I spend my time jaunting across the globe, buried in a book, or eating my way through a wheel of cheese.
