Women and sexual minority individuals regularly encounter biases that can hamper their opportunities, impair their performance, and negatively impact their mental and physical health.  In one ongoing line of research, we collaborate with Dr. Kristen Salomon’s cardiovascular psychophysiology lab to examine how sexism affects women’s motivation, performance, and cardiovascular outcomes in STEM contexts.  Other current projects examine the cognitive and physiological correlates of sexual prejudice, factors that predict objectification of women’s bodies, and motivations underlying street harassment of women and gender-nonconforming individuals.
